Photography has always been a passion for me. I like to capture the energy and emotion of a place on film. I was fortunate to be a student at Aberdeen University and a regular at the Photographic Society. In between sipping pints, I learned the art and science of photography, from camera to darkroom. I learned to experiment using manual override and that even a cheap camera can yield excellent results.

I started out using an old Pentax MV1 SLR camera and tripod, when I was 14. Later on at University I moved onto developing and printing, using mainly B&W print film and then slide film, replacing my MV1 with a K1000 and ME-Super. Now, 20 years later, I am slowly going digital and use a Fuji Finepix 1400z camera. My next move will be a digital SLR.    << Back <<
